is Your Life in Balance?

An extraordinary life looks different to each of us, so there is no template for evaluating “extraordinary.” However, having a well-balanced life is important to the process, so I would encourage you to evaluate your current life in order to narrow down what areas might need the most attention. Then, re-score yourself every six months in order to see your progress.
Evaluate yourself in each of the following 12 areas of life on a scale of 1 (being poor) and 10 (extraordinary) as to how each one fits into your life. In other words, if you have to work 80 hours a week, you might score “Business & Professional” a 1 or 2. If you are madly in love and your relationship is fabulous with your significant other, you might score yourself a 10. If you do not have children, simply score N/A. If one area of your life is broken, such as relationships, it can negatively impact other areas of your life as well.
It is important to address the low scoring areas of life to get you on track to the extraordinary life you deserve. It will be easy to ignore the low scoring areas and think to yourself: someday when I have time I will deal with that or someday I will get around to that. That is why most people do not live extraordinary lives – they are not willing to make their lives intentional and seek immediate solutions. Some will even play the victim roll by blaming others in order to let themselves off the hook.
